❓ FAQs
Why Adjust Bass & Treble — Fast, Simple, and Privacy‑First
BranchAudio’s Bass & Treble Adjuster makes it easy to sculpt low and high frequencies without installing software. Apply gentle boosts or cuts to improve clarity, reduce harshness, and tailor audio for different listening environments — all processed locally in your browser for maximum privacy. No sign-up required: upload, tweak, preview, and download.
What does bass & treble adjustment do?
Bass controls low-frequency energy (depth and warmth), while treble adjusts high-frequency content (clarity and presence). The tool applies EQ changes to the decoded audio samples so you can hear improvements in real time. Adjustments reshape the existing waveform — they don’t recreate audio data removed by previous lossy encoding.
Why use an online adjuster?
- Quick edits — perfect for podcasters, videographers, and musicians who need fast improvements.
- Device-friendly — works on phones, tablets, and laptops without server uploads.
- Preserves privacy — processing happens locally so your files never leave your device.
Common use cases
- Podcasters improving vocal presence before mixing.
- Video creators reducing sibilance or adding warmth to dialogue.
- Musicians shaping demo recordings for clearer playback.
- Students and lecturers enhancing recorded lectures for better intelligibility.
Quick tips
- Make small changes — subtle boosts or cuts usually sound more natural than extremes.
- Use preview frequently — listen on different devices when possible before downloading.
- If you need loudness consistency, combine EQ with normalization or compression in a dedicated workflow.
Technical note
BranchAudio applies two simple EQ bands to the decoded PCM samples and exports the result as a high-quality WAV file. Processing is lossless within the exported container — however, EQ cannot restore audio lost to previous low-bitrate encodes. For professional workflows start from the highest-quality source available.
Privacy & performance
Because all processing runs in the browser, your audio files remain private and are never uploaded to our servers. Local processing also gives lower latency previews and faster edits on low-powered devices.
